29th Annual Hoosier Beef Congress in the History Books - INDIANAPOLIS -– The Indiana weather was kind to the Indiana beef industry this year for the 2015 Hoosier Beef Congress (HBC) and the mild sunny weather made this year's show much more enjoyable. On Friday evening, a record 682 exhibitors did their best in the Showmanship competition.

IBCA HONORS INDUSTRY'S BEST AT ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET - The Indiana Beef Cattle Association (IBCA) honored the state's top cattlemen and women at their Annual Convention on February 6th at the Caribbean Cove Hotel and Conference Center in Indianapolis. Beef producers from across the state attended to salute the men and women who provided the leadership for the Indiana beef industry over the past year.

2016 Sennett Farms Cattle Company/IBCA Scholarship - The Indiana Beef Cattle Association (IBCA) is taking applications for the 2016 Sennett Farms Cattle Company -IBCA Scholarship. The $500 scholarship is again being made possible through the generous donation of Clark and Lance Sennett, owners of Sennett Farms Cattle Company in Waynetown, IN. It is available to residents of Indiana who are attending or high school seniors who plan to attend a two or four year college or university and major in agriculture. Applicants must be from a family that is actively involved in beef production and are current IBCA members.

In order to apply, candidates must complete an application form and write an original essay about: "With higher demands for protein rich diets across developing nations and more countries entering the global beef industry, how will the US beef industry increase or maintain its share of the global beef market?" Completed entries must be postmarked no later than May 31, 2016. The IBCA will administer the program, read the essays and select the winners. Essays will be judged on the basis of clarity of expression, persuasiveness, originality and relevance of the topic. A winner will be announced in July 2016. IBCA reserves the right to publish any or all parts of the essays submitted.

Indiana Beef Cattle Association Sets Area Beef Meetings - The Indiana Beef Cattle Association (IBCA), in cooperation with Purdue University and Purdue Extension, has set its 10 Area Beef meetings for 2015-2016.

The IBCA Public Policy was updated at the October 30, 2014 Executive Board of Directors meeting and is being posted here for public view. The membership will review and approve this Public Policy at the Annual Business Meeting on February 6, 2016.
The IBCA Bylaws were updated at the November 23, 2015 Executive Board of Directors meeting and are being posted here for public view in accordance with Article XV stating the bylaws shall be made available from the Association to all members at least thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Business Meeting. These bylaws may also be amended at the Annual Business Meeting upon proposed recommendations from the membership. Proposed Amendments must be supported by two-thirds (2/3) of the members present and voting to be adopted.

2016-2017 Nomination Slate of IBCA Officers - The nomination slate is being posted here for public view at least thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Business Meeting in accordance with Article XI of the IBCA bylaws. This slate of officers will be voted on at the 2016 Annual Business by the attending membership.
