2016 Sennett Farms Cattle Company/IBCA Scholarship
The Indiana Beef Cattle Association (IBCA) is taking applications for the 2016 Sennett Farms Cattle Company -IBCA Scholarship. The $500 scholarship is again being made possible through the generous donation of Clark and Lance Sennett, owners of Sennett Farms Cattle Company in Waynetown, IN. It is available to residents of Indiana who are attending or high school seniors who plan to attend a two or four year college or university and major in agriculture. Applicants must be from a family that is actively involved in beef production and are current IBCA members.

In order to apply, candidates must complete an application form and write an original essay about: "With higher demands for protein rich diets across developing nations and more countries entering the global beef industry, how will the US beef industry increase or maintain its share of the global beef market?" Completed entries must be postmarked no later than May 31, 2016. The IBCA will administer the program, read the essays and select the winners. Essays will be judged on the basis of clarity of expression, persuasiveness, originality and relevance of the topic. A winner will be announced in July 2016. IBCA reserves the right to publish any or all parts of the essays submitted.

Call Out to Local Affiliates
The grassroots of the IBCA is made up of county organizations. There are many active county and area organizations involved in a wide variety of activities throughout the year, including grilling beef products at local events, holding field days, sponsoring scholarships or working at the county fair. We are interested in hearing about your organization's future or past events.

Remember, if you send a summary of your county activities, it will be highlighted in this weekly newsletter and or published in the Indiana Beef magazine. You can send county event forms by mail to Jennifer Biesecker, Indiana Beef Cattle Association, 5738 W 74th St. Indianapolis, IN 46278 or by email.

If you would like more information about becoming involved in your county's activities, please call the IBCA office, 317.293.2333, and we'd be happy to send you to the right person.
